What happened to promise of upscale retail shops?

Well, another false representation by our town leaders and Boyer Properties! Perfectly good land (which was a great place for our children) was sold and leveled for the “promise” of “upscale shops." Years later, and they are just bringing us the same old stores we have right down the road: DSW and Ross.

HomeGoods and Gordmans are just another example of discount stores like Marshalls and TJ Maxx -- which, by the way, are right across the street as well as Famous Footwear.

Ever hear the saying, “Build it and they will come?” Well, guess what? Schererville is going to get what it asked for, and it won’t be pretty! I thought we were trying to improve our town, not drag it down.

Why not throw in another dollar store just for the heck of it?
