Young Voices columnist Kevin Surney claims "all knowledge" the ancient Greeks and Romans possessed came from an African civilization, but cites no authoritative source for this surprising opinion.

He also asserts, "The early African civilizations were the ones that taught other nations how to read and right." Really? Which African civilizations were that?

Diverse opinions are worthy of consideration by all, but the "facts" underpinning those observations should be required by the editorial staff before printing.
