Why base your choice for president on a skin color?

I am at a total loss regarding the commentary submitted by some of the readers of this paper, the letters to the editor concerning the president of the United States.

At best, it's subtle racism. This president inherited a national debt of $10 trillion, a war that was not sanctioned by Congress, and an oncoming financial crisis that imploded the country's economy. That's just the top of what's going on.

This country is now dealing with these closet racists demanding that the president be removed at all costs.

The financial crisis has subsided, the auto industry is alive again, and this country now has a chance to right itself. Treat this man with the respect he deserves. Allow him the time to fix what's wrong.

Why base your choice on a skin color? This president is not the problem; he's beginning to be the solution.
