I am very grateful for columnist Phil Wieland's common sense ("Don't put Indiana education in Kruse control," Jan. 11) and his willingness to speak the truth in a state which cares for children only until they're born. At birth, Hoosiers-in-charge hand them off to their God.

Hand them off for health care, food, education, protection against abuse, neglect and guns, treating them (after their mothers) as less-than-secondary citizens.
