A dance group and a jazz band will delight attendees at the gala awards dinner on World Civility Day April 13.
The South Shore Dance Alliance and Will Miller & The Jazz Gang will perform at Avalon Manor during the second annual World Civility Day dinner.
Visitors from 14 states and six nations have registered for the events of the day, which begins with workshops at the Indiana Welcome Center and ends with the dinner.
The South Shore Dance Alliance was founded in April 2002 to provide area dancers with the training and social development required to move into the professional dance world.
It has become recognized for high quality dance education and pre-professional dance performance training program, with its alumni preforming professionally throughout the United States and Europe.
Tickets can be ordered by calling the Gary Chamber of Commerce at 219-885-7407. Tickets are $25 for the day sessions and lunch and $60 for the celebration and awards dinner. Tables of 10 for the dinner can be reserved for $550.
