As a student, Rogers Roofing owner John Rogers spent his summers alongside his father, working side by side on roofs all across Northwest Indiana and the Chicagoland area. He learned how to pound in a nail and check to make sure shingles were installed correctly.
He also learned how to run a business.
“He taught me to always take care of the customers first,” says Rogers, whose company has offered full service roofing for both residential and commercial customers for over forty years. “He would tell me that good news travels fast, but bad news always travels faster. He made it a priority to make sure all of his customers were fully satisfied with his work.”
And while Rogers had planned to go into the banking field after college graduation, he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps. With only three employees under his direction, Rogers took the helm of the company and added additional services throughout the years such as the installation of replacement windows, gutters, soffit & fascia installations and Leaf Relief gutter protection. “Roofing was a real calling for me,” explains Rogers, who now employs 50-70 craftsmen throughout the year. “I not only loved being outside, but I loved having the chance to take something old and terrible and make it new again.”
2013 marks a year of great growth within the company and simple goals for Rogers Roofing employees to follow, such as ‘smiles are contagious’ and ‘always make it right’. Thanks to these business philosophies, Rogers Roofing continues to service a long list of satisfied and loyal customers, some of which represent the second and third generation of families. And with 75% of their business coming from referrals, their customers are eager to spread the good news.
“There is no 9 to 5 mindset here,” says Rogers, who includes an extensive warranty on all of their products and installations. “We are on call 24 hours a day and seven days a week. No matter what we focus on our business approach and philosophies. We have created relationships with our customers and they know they can put their trust in us. We will always be here when our customers need us.”
