As a busy business owner, wife and mother, Tequila Restaurante’ co owner Michele Burget knows what it’s like to have a car load of hungry people around dinner time. With the rush of after school activities and still unfinished to do lists still hanging in the balance, it can be tough to make sure that everyone is fed right.
Thank goodness for drive thru restaurants.
“When you have a carpool of ten kids in sweats and hoodies, the last thing you want to do is head into a nice restaurant,” laughs Burget, who has owned Tequila Restaurante on "The Square" in Downtown Crown Point alongside her husband since 2010. “We felt there was a real need in the community for a more casual option.”
Set to open in March, Tequila Restaurante’s second Crown Point location will feature a bit more casual atmosphere…and the ever important drive thru service, while still featuring the authentic dishes they are known for. Conveniently located on Broadway Avenue and directly across from a bustling sports complex, Burget says she feels that the new location will best serve their growing customer base.
“Most of the places families flock to for a quick bite are very cold and resemble a cafeteria in many ways,” explains Burget, who will continue to offer longtime Mexican favorites such as Fish Tacos and scrumptious Burritos at the new location, along with breakfast favorites via the drive thru such as fresh pastries and Mexican coffee. “We are spending much time perfecting the décor and ambiance of the new location. Our philosophy has always been about celebrating the sweetness of life while also celebrating the past. Being able to offer authentic family recipes within a limited menu at our new location seemed as the perfect next step for us. We can’t wait to see our customers stop by!”
Of course, customers can also continue to visit Tequila Restaurante` Main Street location to explore and discover the true Mexico in the cozy, friendly atmosphere loyal customers have loved for over two years. “Our original location will continue to offer the tablecloth and candles type of atmosphere that our customers love,” concludes Burget. “It’s a wonderful time in the history of our restaurants to be able to offer our customers a real choice in atmospheres, while still serving the very best in authentic Mexican food!”
