Northwest Indiana offers a great variety of first-class entertainment.

Professional theater, symphonic music, Las Vegas-style headliners and standup comedy are just some of the enticements our area offers.

One of the great benefits of staying close to home for your cultural events is that all the venues offer ample free parking and tickets generally cost much less than you'll pay in Chicago. Even better, region theaters, symphony orchestras and many community theaters offer great discounts on tickets and a host of other benefits to season subscribers.

Theatre at the Center is NWI’s only professional company presenting Broadway musicals and comedies. This year's season has begun, offering hot new shows and well-loved favorites such as: "The Fox on the Fairway," "What a Glorious Feeling" (the making of "Singin’ in the Rain"), "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee," just off Broadway’s "Godspell" and the musical version of "A Christmas Carol." Special events include Switchback's contemporary Celtic music on March 10 and Munster's own Kevin Burke in "Defending the Caveman" in June. Contact www.TheatreAtTheCenter.com

The Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra and maestro Kirk Muspratt will present 14-year-old piano phenom Nadia Azzi on March 8, with the orchestra also performing Berlioz’s popular "Symphonie Fantastique." NISO’s Youth Orchestra’s spring concert will be May 19. Contact www.nisorchestra.org

The Venue in Hammond's Horseshoe Casino presents Las Vegas and headline performers in music and comedy.
