ST. CHARLES | A 10-year prison sentence has been handed a suburban Chicago man who pleaded guilty to killing two passengers in a DUI crash.
Thomas Ofenloch, of Aurora, pleaded guilty in February in Kane County Circuit Court to two counts of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of misdemeanor driving under the influence.
Authorities say Ofenloch's blood-alcohol level was above the legal limit when he slammed into a tree on Aug. 4, 2007, killing Joshua Sutton and Andrew Berger, who were both 21.
In handing down the sentence Friday, Judge Timothy Q. Sheldon citied Ofenloch's history of substance abuse and numerous citations for speeding. !~ By The Associated Press
