Black Friday shopping may have included a lottery ticket with tonight's Powerball jackpot swelling to $325 million -- the fourth highest amount in the game's history.
No one matched all five numbers and the Powerball in Wednesday's draw. The winning numbers were 8-18-24-30-29 and the Powerball 26. According to the Hoosier Lottery, 31,761 people who purchased tickets in Indiana won prizes in the Wednesday draw.
Tonight's jackpot stands at the fourth largest in the game's history. The last winning jackpot ticket was sold in the first week in October and the prize has been growing ever since.
The largest Powerball jackpot, $365 million, was sold in February 2006 and claimed by a group of eight co-workers at a ConAgra plant in Lincoln, Neb.
The group elected to take the cash option on the jackpot, valued at $177.3 million, with each receiving $15.5 million after taxes.
Powerball is played in 44 jurisdictions, including Indiana and Illinois. Tickets are $2 each with the Power Play option to multiply winnings costing an extra $1.
Powerball drawings take place at 9:59 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday.
