SOUTH BEND | The provost and vice president of academic affairs at Governors State University in University Park is one of four finalists for the position of chancellor at Indiana University’s South Bend campus.

Indiana University officials said that Terry Allison is among the four finalists who will be visiting the campus this month. Allison, who has been with Governors State since 2010, is scheduled for a visit Tuesday.

Allison also serves as an English professor at GSU. Previously, he was dean of the College of Arts and Letters at California State University in Los Angeles, and also worked in a variety of roles at the California State University campus in San Marcos. He has a doctoral degree from the University of California at San Diego.

A 13-member search committee began work last summer to identify and interview candidates to replace current Chancellor Una Mae Reck, who has said she will retire in June.

University President Michael McRobbie will make the final selection, with approval of the Indiana University Board of Trustees.
