To paraphrase boxing great Muhammad Ali, Monica Seles -- the first female power player in professional tennis circles -- can return a serve like a sledgehammer while floating like a feather when moving across the stage of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars."
Seles was born on 12 p.m. Dec. 2, 1973, in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia. Her chartwheel depicts Earth as a circle in the center surrounded by a sky divided into 12 Houses. The 1st House starts at the eastern horizon, with the western horizon starting the 7th House. The 10th House cusp is the point directly overhead.
Complementing Seles' potent two-handed forehand is her pair of speedy feet on the court, which no doubt contributes to her agility on the dance floor. This attribute flows from a prominent Pisces-Neptune-12th House configuration. That zodiac sign, planet and house govern the feet, as well as heightened emotional sensitivity, compassion for those less fortunate and unlimited generosity.
Seles has a tight conjunction between her Sun and Neptune (10 and 7 degrees Sagittarius, 9th House). Her potent Moon is buried deep in the 12th House, having just risen in the east and sharing the 3rd degree of Pisces with the cusp of the 1st House of Selfhood.
Through Cancer, the Moon governs the stomach and our relationship to food. No mystery then that Seles was selected to promote the consumption of spirulina -- the highly nutritional one-celled micro-algae -- to counter malnutrition in the world.
All 30 degrees of Leo (heart, upper back) are found in Seles' 6th House of Wellness. Since the Sun -- ruling sphere of Leo -- is conjunct the health-governing planet Neptune, her Leonine body zones are exceptional vulnerable.
On April 30, 1993, both the Moon and Mars (sharp objects, violence) were passing through Leo and Seles' 6th House (Illness) when a deranged fan stabbed the tennis star between the shoulder blades with a boning knife.
Serve all living beings and know that love is the brightest star!
