LaPorte hospital offers first-aid course
LAPORTE | Indiana University LaPorte Hospital will offer the Heartsaver First Aid course with CPR and AED from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 11 at 1100 Lincolnway.
The course is based on the American Heart Association guidelines, offering training on how to perform CPR on adults, children and infants and how to use an automatic external defibrillator and basic first-aid techniques, including bandaging, splinting and environmental emergencies. Participants will receive a two-year certification.
The course is $65 per person, including teaching materials. Registration is required. Class size is limited.

Oncology clinic moves
MUNSTER | The oncology infusion clinic of Dr. Rowland Mbaoma has moved to Franciscan Physicians Hospital, 701 Superior Ave.
The Munster-based clinic will offer more space, newer amenities and personal televisions during infusion. The hospital location will provide treatment expansion with services that can be done on-site.

Day of Dance scheduled
MERRILLVILLE | Franciscan Alliance will host a free Day of Dance For Your Health from 1 to 5 p.m. Feb. 12 at Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza, 800 East 81st Ave.
The event is part of Franciscan Alliance's Spirit of Women program, which seeks to bring together women of all ages and backgrounds by motivating and inspiring them to make positive changes in their lives.
Marci Crozier, a contestant from season 11 of "The Biggest Loser" will be the master of ceremonies.
Events include dance demonstrations, health screenings, vendors and a chef's corner featuring chefs of the Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza who will offer demonstrations including nuevo Latino fare, reduced-calorie preparations and molecular gastronomy techniques.
