The Times

Snowshoe Hike

FEB. 3, 17, 1-3 p.m., Indiana Dunes Visitor Center, 1215 N. Ind. 49, Porter. 219.395.1882. This program begins with a brief indoor program on winter and the use of snowshoes before a ranger-led snowshoe hike through the fields and woods surrounding the center. Snowshoes will be provided if needed, but a limited number are available. If there is not enough snow, a nature hike will be offered instead.

Donut Dash 5K/2K Run/Walk

FEB. 4, 9 a.m., Symphony of Crown Point, 1555 S. Main St., Crown Point. 219.662.9840. A new twist to last year’s pajama run, this year’s 5K run/walk and 2K non-timed run/walk through the streets of Crown Point will feature pajamas and doughnuts at each mile and after the run, plus mimosas, post-race snacks, a prize for the best pajamas, games, a DJ and more.

Baby & Me Exercise Class

FEB. 7, 11 a.m.-noon, Community Hospital Fitness Pointe, 9950 Calumet Ave., Munster. 866.836.3477. This postpartum class enables new parents and caregivers to share their fitness with their baby ages 6 weeks through crawling. A postnatal fitness expert takes participants through a workout and provides a series of exercises to do at home. Babies should be brought in a carry sack.

Strength Express

Step it up and Tone

Tuesday Open Gym Soccer

THROUGH MARCH 27, 6-7 p.m. kindergarten-fifth graders; 7-8 p.m. sixth-eighth graders; 8-9:30 p.m. adults, Jean Shepherd Community Center, 3031 Hahoney Drive, Hammond. 219.554.0155. The gym is open to youth and adult soccer players of all skill levels. Players need to bring shin guards and a ball. A soccer coach/trainer will be available for the first hour of the night, open to kindergartners through fifth graders.
