Super Hero Fun Fest 5K Run/Walk

Participants can dress up as their favorite super heroes and participate in a 5K run/walk or kids fun run at this 5th annual event. Awards will be given for the best dressed. Additional activities include a performance by the Deep Fried Pickle Project, carnival games, food vendors, face painting, a bounce house and more.

HOMIE Disc Golf

Hero Half Marathon and 10K

OCT. 1, 8 a.m., Indiana Dunes State Park, 1600 N. 25 E., Chesterton. Participants can experience the Indiana Dunes like never before on a run along the dunes, through wetlands and along the Calumet Trail.

Shelter Shuffle 5K

OCT. 1, 9 a.m., Sunset Hill Farm County Park, 775 Meridian Road, Valparaiso. This cross country-style 5K run benefits the Porter County Animal Shelter.

Unite to Fight Cancer Run/Walk

OCT. 1, noon-1:30 p.m., Munster High School, 8808 Columbia Ave., Munster. 219.836.3349. Previously known as Romp and Roll, Unite and Fight Cancer raises funds to help local residents diagnosed with cancer. The event kicks off with the Magic of Steven Kellog and a cancer survivorship ribbon ceremony. A kids’ 100-yard dash and a 5K run/walk follows and the event concludes with a picnic, raffles and prizes.

Adult Fall Volleyball League
