A boating safety class will be offered at the Michigan City Yacht Club.

MICHIGAN CITY — A boating safety class will be offered from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Michigan City Yacht Club. Cost is $40 per person and includes a catered lunch. The course will be conducted by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Registration is required, seating limited.

During the class participants will learn general information about power and sail vessels, including personal watercraft, like Jet Skis or kayaks. There will be information to make the boating experience safer and more comfortable. The course also will include laws and regulations that impact any recreational boaters.

Participants will receive a certificate of completion, if they successfully pass the open book exam taken the day of the class.
