Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Michigan City was honored with an “A” Hospital Safety ScoreSM by The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit run by employers and other large purchasers of health benefits. The Hospital Safety ScoreSM was calculated under the guidance of The Leapfrog Group’s Blue Ribbon Expert Panel using publicly available data on patient injuries, medical and medication errors, and infections. U.S. hospitals were assigned an A, B, C, D, or F for their safety.
“We are very pleased to be awarded this accolade by the Leapfrog Group, a prominent national health care quality and patient safety organization,” said Jim Callaghan, MD, president of Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Michigan City. “This is the latest in a steady stream of national quality of care awards for Franciscan St Anthony Health. We have an outstanding patient care team, we are committed to our Mission, and our communities can rest assured that we deliver the highest quality of care, close to home.”
