On your wedding day, you want to look your best, which likely means you’ve been watching your calories a bit more closely and hitting the gym a little more often. But what if there were an easier way to firm and tone?

A popular spa treatment, body wraps promise to do just that, in mere minutes, and now can even be done at home. The Ultimate Body Applicator by It Works! is advertised in several bridal shops in Northwest Indiana and seems to be gaining popularity with brides-to-be and their bridal parties.

Cathy Brown, owner of Catherine’s Bridal Boutique in Valparaiso, Indiana, offers the It Works! body wraps at her store and says, “We receive inquiries on a daily basis about the body wraps. People are very curious as to how you use it and how it works.”

And how does it work? The It Works! website claims that nutrients infused within the wrap help to expel the fat through the normal elimination process of the body, naturally removing inches on your body.

According to the company’s website, the applicator is “a one-of-a-kind body contouring treatment” that the company claims can “tighten, tone and firm any place on the body in as little as 45 minutes.” The applicators can be applied to various parts of the body, including the abdomen, back, sides, legs, arms or buttocks.

Before trying a body wrap, keep in mind that the wraps have not been evaluated by the U.S. Food and Drug administration, and no scientific studies have been performed. Experts maintain that weight loss can only be sustained long-term with a healthy diet and exercise. Be sure to check the packaging for any ingredients you may be allergic to, and you may want to consult your doctor before using a wrap.

Want to try a wrap but not sure how to use it? “We do apply the wrap in the store if a customer prefers our help,” Brown says. “Most of the time, they purchase the wrap and take it home to apply it at their convenience. It is very easy to apply.”
