Ice-carvers are the main attraction but there's no shortage of good things to eat and drink downtown during winter.
Schu's and Bistro on the Boulevard are traditionally packed for the Friday night crowd ice-carving weekend (Feb. 8-10) and local wineries and distilleries are always on hand to provide samples of inner-warmth beverages. There is a more than adequate selection of hot chocolate products and delicious comfort food. The tropical theme for the fest the second weekend in Febraury has persisted too, with good reason. Disco surfer music makes everyone want to dance! And there is something to the festive atmosphere inside places like the Silver Beach Carousel that just makes you forget about the cold weather. And there is no substitute for ending the evening on the couch in front of the fireplace at the Boulevard Inn.
