The first ever French Lens night celebration is set for the Heritage Museum and Cultural Center starting at 6:30 pm. The collaborative event will benefit both the Heritage and the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra on the occasion of the restoration of the Fresnel Lens which was created in Paris around 1880.

French hors d'oeuvres, wine & beer as are on the menu for the party all about the lens from the inner lighthouse in St. Joseph. The 4th order lens that’s the cause for celebration and it is the second Fresnel Lens the Heritage Museum has received.

The fabulous Robert Swan and the fabulous and gorgeous Martha Cares will also be on hand to perform music of the 1940s-`50s including Edith Piaf and Jacques Brel.

Tickets are $40 for general admission/$75 Patron of the Arts – patron’s names will be listed on a recognition plaque to be displayed with the newly-restored Fresnel Lens at the Heritage Museum.
