A continuing saga of the eating finale on State Street in St. Joe including a long, rainy night, prelude at The Buck and then on to Rybelle’s around the corner:

The Buck: There are several great things about the Buck, but some of the highlights for me last Saturday was the comfortable living room set up with the leather table-stools in the center and the television option where certain people could watch Michigan State just slaughter Michigan – Ann Arbor. Other people could relax and catch up with their girlfriends. The second best part of the visit was having the personal recommendations of Buck Owner Ken Kozminski on which beers to try and ending up being focused on Greenbush craft beers produced by Scott Sullivan in Sawyer. I had a half of a light amber and a sip of a delicious more dense brew that Ken was drinking. The Buck will be a great place to have little gatherings like we did for Shore, all winter long.

I have to compliment Rybelle’s on a couple of things that they do better than anyone. The fish --- and I had fresh perch, lightly seasoned and slightly breaded in a mild tartar sauce --- was just outstanding. So was the flank steak special that my husband had. The service was impeccable. I have seldom had such a perfect meal at an excellent price anywhere including Chicago. Congrats to all!
