Nearly 900 guests from Chicago's business, cultural and philanthropic circles attended the 33rd Annual Columbian Ball on October 19, 2013, co-chaired by Amy and Chris Crane and Anna and Bob Livingston. For the first time in five years, the ball was held inside the magnificent expanse of the Museum, allowing guests to dine next to the Coal Mine, under the wings of a 727 and steps from a 40-foot tornado.

Celebrating the Museum’s 80th anniversary, the show-stopping event raised about $2.1 million for the Museum's Annual Fund and internationally recognized Center for the Advancement of Science Education (CASE).
