Multi-talented Duo Patti Shaffner and Scott Pazera on Stage Saturday Night at Miller Bakery Café: Diana Twyman and Jack Strode are strongly recommending reservations for this special live jazz performance at Miller Bakery Café from 8 until 10 pm, you can call MBC at 219-427-1446. Patti Shaffner is a name we all know. In addition to her accomplishments as a jazz vocalist, composer and stylist, Patti Shaffner is also well-known in NWI as an award-winning director, actress and vocal coach. Patti has performed on radio (WFMT-FM) and her music has been collected on CDs and is available on iTunes. She has studied with artists including Bobby McFerrin and Jazz Improvisational Songstress Rhiannon. The depth and emotion of her work has been compared to jazz greats like Ella Fitzgerald, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell and Edit Piaf. If you have missed her performances at the 555 Club in the past, this weekend is the perfect opportunity.

Shaffner will be accompanied by Scott Pazera, who has been performing on bass, standard and acoustic guitar for 30 years. Rich Little, Veruca Salt, Ce Ce Peniston, Med Flory (Supersax), Fareed Haque, Henry Johnson, Bill Lancton, Byron Stripling, Rachel Yamagata, James Russell, Satya Graha, Mike Mandell are just some of the artists Scott has performed or reacorded with over the years. Bob Swan and Martha Cares Channel Piaf at the Acorn: Robert Swan, Martha Cares and Don Stille on accordion are bringing back their tribute to Edith Piaf back to the Acorn on Saturday at 8 pm (ET) in Three Oaks. Tickets are $25 and available at www.acorntheater.com, or 269-756-3879.

Opening Friday at South Haven Arts of Annual Juried Regional Show:This is the 4th year for SHCA’s exhibition, juried by School of the AIC Professor Emeritus John Miller, will be showing 38 regional artists working in various media starting Friday. The opening reception will be held from 5-7 pm (ET) at the South Haven Center for the Arts, and many of the artists from Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, and Wisconsin will be in attendance. Over $3,000 in prizes for the winning artists, including purchase awards from the Board of Directors, the show is one of the Lake Michigan area’s best.
