The beautiful people including our FOTS co-sponsor and charismatic tourism guru, SWMTC’s Millicent Huminsky, Event Manager Extraordinaire Amy Zapal and Superstar Hostess Robin Van Dyke are the people who make it all happen next Friday.

2014 FOTS is a Mother-Daughter Event This Year: For this week’s episode I’m sending you readers straight to video! The first movie I’m recommending is by our outstanding videographer Brian Vernelis, which takes a behind-the-scenes look at the making of our June Shore cover. The reason I want you to see it now, is because the star, our next Shore cover girl, is Emily Hoge. Emily will make another appearance at the Fashion on the Shore Emerging Designer show one week from tomorrow.

Emily is one of about 30 models lined up this year to help wear the clothes from the more than 20 portfolios of the Lake Michigan area’s top emerging designers. Moviemaker Brian Vernelis will also be at that show along with our fabulous set designer and photographer Tony Martin; the entire Shore crew led by content producer and editor Tara McElmurry. Other notable participants are the fabulous Varsha Shivakumar, who has been a top model for our designer showcase from the humble beginnings three years ago.

But none of this would be possible without the constant and vigilant support of our partner and co-sponsor the Southwestern Michigan Tourism Council and Executive Director Millicent Huminsky who’s unwavering determination to make this show spectacular for these students, their families and friends and everyone who enjoys this annual evening at the Heritage.

The Heritage is by far the perfect venue for this living work of performance art. The unparalleled energy and focus that event manager Amy Zapal and her staff bring to the FOTS each year is just astonishing. The level of professionalism, precision and talent that goes into this effort each year produces an even bigger wow factor. Dani Lane never fails to create a top-notch program along with our hostess Robin Van Dyke, who is funny, smart, dynamic and beautiful. Which pretty much sums up the entire experience. I knew that I have so many people to thank for this fabulous show that I had to start early this year. So please enjoy some of the wonderful and remarkable work from last year’s show here:

And don’t forget to get your advance tickets to FOTS today, because even if the tickets don’t run out (and that is always a possibility) if you wait to get your tickets at the door they will cost $10 more per ticket.
