MUNSTER | From as far as Brett Eastburn could remember, he always has been glared at by children and adults alike who have never seen somebody quite like him.

Eastburn, born without any arms or legs compassionately understands their surprise, and basks in the opportunity to enlighten people's perspectives on those with disabilities.

He shared his message recently with the Munster Rotary Club at Centennial Park during his “I’m Not Missing Anything” presentation.

“I have always accepted challenges and used them as motivation,” said the owner of No Boundaries, Inc.

“It’s easy to feel sorry for yourself and get caught up in the negativity. I knew since I was little — all right, so I'm not much bigger now — that I was very special and  I could use that to make a difference convincing people to look at things in a different light.”

Now, an internationally acclaimed motivational speaker, Eastburn has traveled to Japan, Switzerland, Mexico, Panama, Canada and other countries captivating audiences with his message centered around overcoming obstacles.

“Obstacles were made to be overcome,” Eastburn said. “My entire life, people have been telling me what I can’t do and I have been showing them that I absolutely can do it, and in many cases do it even better.”

In his youth, Eastburn played baseball, football, and basketball and even became an accomplished swimmer. In high school, Brett wrestled on the varsity team and placed fourth in the nation in AAU.

During his presentations, Eastburn demonstrates his ability to dribble a ball, throw a perfect spiral, chop a board with his karate expertise and even showcases his artistic abilities all while bringing tears and laughs to the audience.

“I could not believe how funny he was,” said Adriana Vizcarra, 10. “I bought his book with my birthday money and can’t wait to read it because his stories were so cool.”

Eastburn recently learned his book "I’m Not Missing Anything" was added to the University of Notre Dame’s curriculum. The book highlights Brett’s childhood, his darker days and all the success he’s experienced since forming No Boundaries, Inc.

All proceeds from Brett Eastburn’s Munster Rotary appearance were donated to Polio Plus and sponsored by Citizens Bank, First Midwest Bank, Peoples Bank and Millies Engineering.
