Can you use some financial tips, whether about debt consolidation, student loans, retirement planning or other topics?

No doubt we all can.

I’m pleased to share that some financial tips and information will come your way in a new series we’re starting called Smart Change.

The series will begin in The Times Wednesday and continue next Sunday, and it will run on those days for six weeks.

At nwi.com, the segments of the print series will expand with digital-only offerings that include video, financial calculators that may help you find a mortgage or a credit card and much more.

Whether print or digital, look for the Smart Change title for a lot of useful information that might help you or someone in your family.

Here are the Smart Change segments for publication in order beginning Sept. 6 through Oct. 15:

  • In debt over your head
  • On the money: Teen financial literacy
  • Friend has a better credit score than you
  • 401(k) loans
  • Entrepreneur transition
  • How debt consolidation can go wrong
  • Tap Roth IRA
  • Get finances ready to chase that dream
  • Debt-free with regrets
  • Student loan forgiveness mistakes
  • When you fear your finances
  • Lifestyle creep

Enjoy this series starting Wednesday, and look for Smart Change when you visit our website for additional content that can be shared with family and friends.

Also, you might connect to our new NWI Smart Change page on Facebook for frequent posts with ideas and tips from this series.

Tribute to labor

Today’s Labor Day weekend paper appropriately carries a labor theme throughout.

It’s our first themed edition in recent history, and it’s a tribute to the hard work of men and women that make the Region special.

We look forward to producing other themed papers on occasion. In every case, they will include a few themed articles along with the news, sports and business of the day and all of the regular features.

Thanks for reading us. Please contact me with any questions about The Times or our many publications.
