2017 Letters to the editor stock

Lake County Sheriff Oscar Martinez was recently invited to a breakfast hosted by a group known as The Breakfast Club. Present were over 60 community activists and leaders from various parts of Lake County, representative of the rich diversity of our region. The club committed to support Sheriff Martinez and his movement against crime.

The club has focused its efforts in electing those who have exhibited a passion for public service and not self-service.

Martinez has distinguished himself as a professional lawman. His knowledge of the county, the county police and where the hot spots for crime are makes him the right candidate.

The club is well aware of the perennial election manipulators whose agenda is to confuse the voters by filing bogus candidates with like-names and ethnicity. Their devious action does not spare the black, brown and white voters. The voters want to elect a policeman for a policeman's job.
