2017 Letters to the editor stock

After announcing that they will not take new students next year, Valparaiso University Law School assured its students they will be able to graduate from an accredited law school. That's not good enough for me.

I came from Massachusetts. I got engaged to a wonderful woman from Crown Point. All of my legal experience is in Indiana. I moved my entire life here to attend this school because I assumed it would stay open through 2019.

They might move the school somewhere else, but I can't afford to move again. My other options include transferring to a school with a one-hour-plus commute, which I probably can't afford either. Or I could simply not get my law degree.

They promised me a valid legal education. I need them to keep that promise here in Valparaiso.

Edward Ricci Jr., Valparaiso
