On Dec. 20, The Times had an article about a series of recent YouTube videos. These videos apparently showed a series of fights that had taken place at Merrillville High School.
The Merrillville police chief and the school administrators made comments to the effect that they were trying to discover which student had posted the particular videos and to take appropriate action against this student or students.
It sounded like they might be considering disciplining the child.
Rather than worrying about a student who attempted to make public what was going on at the school, it would seem that they should focus their attention on what they can do to make the school safer for the students.
It would seem to me that the parents of children attending Merrillville High School would be more concerned about how the administration is trying to provide safe schools for their children, rather than the administration taking action against a student whistleblower who tried to expose what was going on at the school.
