2017 Letters to the editor stock

So the Mayor of Hammond can't understand why a mail carrier can't deliver mail because of a dog attack.

Give that mayor a mail bag, put him on the street and let him see what it's like. I carried mail for 17 years and got bitten four times and stitches twice, and it hurt a lot. I spent my last 20 years in management and would have to go out and investigate a dog bite. When you see those teeth coming at you of any dog — big or small — it's scary. You know you're going to get bitten.

Let that Hammond mayor go out there and carry mail, and then let him make his remarks about not understanding why no mail delivery. It's not as easy as he thinks to be a mail carrier.
