2017 Letters to the editor stock

I’ve got two words for the money-grubbing controllers of Major League Baseball: Stop it! Viewing the playoff series of America's game should be free and accessible to everyone. Watching games, especially the playoffs, can be inconvenient and expensive for some. Please put all the championship series back on major over-the-air networks.

Like so many others, I’ve cut the cable. I choose not to pay for Internet and satellite service. This year's National League championship broadcasts were inaccessible because they were carried exclusively on the MLB Network and a cable station. This leaves me totally dependent upon local radio broadcasts for live playoff coverage.

I’d prefer to throw a party and watch the game at home with friends before going to either a bar or local eatery. It's a sure bet I won’t throw any extra money at Major League Baseball.

John Hubbard, Michigan City
