Letters to the editor stock

This problem has something to do with the fact that our government allows the airlines to overbook flights to assure that the airlines don't lose any money. Stop this stupidity, and the problem won't exist anymore.

Of course, that's too easy. The problem will continue to exist, and sometime in the future another well-educated, civilized American citizen — or maybe an illegal immigrant — will decide they aren't going to give up their seats and will act like this doctor did and demand that the officers "drag" him or her from the plane.

Seems to me they complied with his request, so now this case will end up in a court of law, wasting the court's time.

The problem on the plane is no different than the problem on the street: No one has any respect for the authority of the police and therefore will resist when asked to do a lawfully requested order.
