I read in today's paper that East Chicago is going to build a new senior citizen home not in the southern part of the city, where one is going to be torn down, but in the Harbor section at 136th & Guthrie streets — a very high-crime area. Why?
There are already two senior citizen buildings just blocks from each other in that same area.
When the city knocks down the one on Railroad Avenue, the new one should be built on the same location. There are senior citizens from all of East Chicago, not just in the Harbor area.
