Hobart Lions Club welcomes all to an open house from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Hobart Chamber of Commerce building, 1001 Lillian St. Representatives from Leader Dog for the Blind, Cancer Control, and other Lions International projects will be present, and light refreshments will be served.
St. Mary Medical Center Auxiliary will sponsor its 13th annual "A Touch of Elegance" fundraising luncheon Sept. 15, at Avalon Manor, 3550 E. U.S. 30, Hobart. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., and lunch will be served at noon.
National Night Out, the annual event that encourages residents to get out in their community and get to know fellow residents as a way to prevent crime will be Tuesday.
As we start out a brand new year, it's time to reflect on some of last year's successes in Hobart, such as the Model Boat Race weekend that brought visitors from far and wide to Hobart, and Brickie Fest, a new Hobart High Class Reunion for all former students.
Hobart Arts League is offering art lessons in oil and mixed media at its hall, 3850 Howard St., Hobart. Classes are available Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
The Market on the Lake will be open from 2 to 7 p.m. every Thursday through Sept. 20 at the corner of Third and Main streets in Hobart. A variety of crafts and food booths will be featured.
