Bicentennial Nature Trust
LAPORTE | To help celebrate Indiana's 200th birthday, coming in 2016, LaPorte County Parks received a present.
INDIANAPOLIS | The commission organizing events and celebrations marking the state's 200th anniversary has named First Lady Karen Pence Indiana's Bicentennial Ambassador.
The Shirley Heinze Land Trust and Lake County Parks have been awarded more than $250,000 in state funds aimed at preserving public spaces in the region.
The next governor will have a unique opportunity to refine Indiana's reputation and mold its future. That's true of every governor, of course, but it will be even more so for John Gregg or Mike Pence because one of them will oversee Indiana's bicentennial.
