Burns Harbor Fire Department
Merrillville turned its emergency medical services over to a private ambulance company in 2008 as a way to cut costs, Merrillville Fire Chief Ed Yerga said.
BURNS HARBOR | The Burns Harbor Fire Department will begin running advance life support ambulances on Saturday.
Six local fire departments will share $741,150 in federal funds to help buy updated radio equipment.
