The cleanup of an oil sheen on the Cady Marsh Ditch is complete and the investigation into the responsible party should wrap up by week's end, a representative for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said Monday.
CROWN POINT | Lake County Surveyor George Van Til said the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has reported progress in identifying and remedying the leak of a lubricant that pooled last week in a north county storm water drainage ditch.
Investigators believe they are honing in on a potential cause of an oil sheen on the Cady Marsh Ditch.
GARY | Federal, state and local officials are investigating an apparent oil leak into a major drainage ditch flowing through Calumet Township, Griffith, Highland and Munster.
