Hegewisch pride is running high this week thanks to the great news that St. Florian School will remain open. This neighborhood, which may be considered small compared to many of its Chicago counterparts, is never lacking in the size of its heart.
CHICAGO | St. Florian School in the Hegewisch neighborhood will stay open, according to parents and a letter from the Archdiocese of Chicago posted on the school’s website and Facebook page Friday night.

CHICAGO | Fundraising and enrollment at St. Florian School in Chicago’s Hegewisch neighborhood are on the rise but help is still needed, Principal Krista Wilkinson said.
Well I see that St. Florian Catholic School in Hegwisch is slated to be closed next school year by the Archdiocese of Chicago. That’s a shame.
