Griffith's Taylor Austin got to state as a freshman. But last year due to a severe hip injury her season ended at the New Prairie Semistate. A change in training and a devotion to overcome has given Austin a great season and a chance to get back to state.

Peyton Reed finished sixth in the Class AAA race to help Valparaiso win the team crown at the New Prairie Invitational last month. He will be part of the Vikings' lineup in Saturday's state meet.
