HAMMOND | Hammond High School administrators know students need to be in school and they make every effort to keep them there in the face of disciplinary problems -- with the exception of severe acts of violence or illegal drug activity, which will not be tolerated.
HAMMOND | It's 7:47 a.m. on a Tuesday, three minutes before the bell rings for class at Hammond High School. At 7:50 a.m., the bell rings. Soundlessly, the front door locks. The students who run up to the door after the bell are late.
