LANSING | As Fire Prevention Week was observed during the second week in October, Lansing author Carrie Steinweg visited third grade students at Greenwood School in South Holland to read her children's book, "Old 104 Rides Again."

GRIFFITH | Griffith Fire Department will host its annual open house from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at Station 3, Ridge Road and Indiana Street.
