The Hobart Historical Society Museum, open 10 a.m. to noon every Saturday, had visitors last year throughout Indiana as well as Oregon, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Washington, Illinois, California and Hawaii.

Luncheon offers a "Touch of Elegance" to benefit medical center

St. Mary Medical Center Auxiliary will sponsor its 13th annual "A Touch of Elegance" fundraising luncheon Sept. 15, at Avalon Manor, 3550 E. U.S. 30, Hobart. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., and lunch will be served at noon.

Come for the concert, stay for a hot dog at Festival Park

Thursday's concert presented by the Hobart City Improvement Committee will feature the Murray Brothers Trio at 7 p.m. at Festival Park, 111 E. Old Ridge Road. Popcorn and hot dogs will be available for purchase from committee volunteers.

Snow puts people in mood for Christmas

Snow makes it seem more like Christmas. I think too many people were dreaming of a white Christmas and their wishes came true last weekend, leaving Hobart and much of Northwest Indiana snowbound until the wind died down and the plows could clear the roads.
