VALPARAISO | Porter County Board of Commissioners and the County Council met during a joint session Monday to hear from attorney Brian Burdick to gain insight on how to best deal with the $160 million in proceeds from the sale of Porter Hospital.
VALPARAISO | The Porter County commissioners have called off a meeting for Tuesday with the County Council on the idea of placing $159 million from the 2007 sale of the county hospital in an endowment and using just the proceeds.
VALPARAISO | Porter County Commissioner President John Evans has invited members of the County Council to attend an Aug. 6 meeting to discuss the potential of placing sale money from the county hospital in a protected endowment and use the proceeds to address funding challenges.
VALPARAISO | Porter County commissioners agreed Tuesday to use nearly $1 million in interest money from the sale of the county hospital to update the system serving radios and pagers for most of the area's fire departments.
