Indiana National Guard Pfc. John Wilson, of Hammond, stayed in contact with his mother through voice and video computer technology while serving in Iraq. His mother, Joy Wilson, said he kept the talks positive. "He kept a lot of it quiet," she said. "He's a great kid." He returned last month.
