VALPARAISO | Despite a plea from Valparaiso Community Schools board incumbent Brigid McLinn that change for change's sake was not good change, the Valparaiso City Council voted Monday to replace her on the board with retired Principal Paul Knauff.
Candidates for the Valparaiso School Board seeking appointment by the Valparaiso City Council said last week that having to face the voters might discourage them from running for that office. While that's interesting, it isn't a valid argument against an elected school board.
VALPARAISO | The group circulating petitions for an elected Valparaiso School Board now hopes to wrap up the campaign at the end of July, but who would run for the job if it was elected instead of appointed?
VALPARAISO | The bipartisan Valparaiso Community Schools Board could become tripartisan with the appointment of the next person, which the Valparaiso City Council is expected to do at its June 25 meeting.
