MICHIGAN CITY | A month after 6-year-old Nathan Woessner was swallowed by a sinkhole, officials are still trying to figure out why it happened and if it could happen again.
Nathan Woessner, the 6-year-old Sterling, Ill. boy rescued from underneath some 11 feet of sand July 12, was discharged from the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children’s Hospital on Tuesday.

MICHIGAN CITY | The condition of the Illinois boy who was buried beneath a sand dune last week has improved, according to his doctors.
Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore officials plan to restrict visitor access to some areas of the park to protect the natural landscape.
