INDIANAPOLIS | State lawmakers this summer will review possible expansion plans for the South Shore Line and consider changes to the membership of its operating board, under a measure signed into law last week by Republican Gov. Mike Pence.
INDIANAPOLIS | The Senate passed several House-approved legislative proposals sponsored by Northwest Indiana lawmakers Tuesday that are now headed to Gov. Mike Pence for his signature or veto. They include:
MERRILLVILLE | A portion of Hendricks Street at the railroad crossing south of 58th Avenue will be closed through Friday while repairs are made at the crossing.
SCHERERVILLE | A project to create quiet railroad crossings in Schererville is advancing, town leaders said.
INDIANAPOLIS | Dirt will fly by the Fourth of July.
I resent the fact that I have to pay for other people's stupidity. It's bad enough political ignorance wastes my tax dollars. Railroad crossings are not dangerous. People are dangerous! Same principle with guns: Guns don't kill, people do. The train didn't jump the track and hit those people.
