INDIANAPOLIS | Dozens of Indiana state laws take effect Tuesday. Here are some of the new laws that may directly affect area residents:
INDIANAPOLIS | The clock is ticking toward a midnight Thursday deadline for Gov. Mike Pence to act on some three dozen remaining proposals approved this month by the Indiana General Assembly.
The Indiana General Assembly processed many bits of legislation — some good, some bad, most in between. We'll deal with some of it in length, but here are short reactions to a few of those bills:

INDIANAPOLIS | A House committee gave the go-ahead Tuesday for a revised plan allowing rental property owners to exempt their units from inspection by local government officials.
INDIANAPOLIS | A plan to eliminate municipal apartment inspection and registration requirements was changed Tuesday by a House committee into a one-year moratorium on new inspection and registration ordinances.
