I had to force myself to read the recently-signed Airport Development Agreement. All it takes is tiny type and legalistic language, and most of us will stop reading.
In her Nov. 1 guest column, Ruth Needleman did a good job identifying sustainable economic development as a need for this area and, really, for the entire country. She then went a little bit afield, blaming the profit motive of companies and job automation for some of our problems.
What could be more important than economic development for Northwest Indiana? Sustainable economic development, that’s what! And there is a big difference between the two.
