Schererville Chamber Of Commerce
When I promised at the end of last winter that I would not complain about a hot summer, I had no idea that by the end of August I'd hoping I could complain. I know we have a few weeks left of “official summer,” so there is still a chance, slight though, but a chance.
The Schererville Chamber of Commerce’s 51st annual all-you-can-eat Corn Roast will be held Friday at Redar Park, Austin and St. Gregory streets.
I have always wondered why the days of winter go by so slowly while the days of summer fly by. Here it is the end of June and there’s so much I want to do before hibernating begins (for me that begins when pumpkins start showing up on front porches).
Remember, last winter we were all waiting anxiously for summer? Well, it’s here.
If it ever arrives, what are your plans for this Summer? When Summer finally gets here, I promise not to complain about the heat. I may decide to stay inside in air conditioning, but I won’t complain, honestly.
Between the cold, the snow and the general ickyness (is that a word?) we have lived through since Christmas, many of us. . .okay me. . .have been in total hibernation mode. Now that we’ve seen a little sun, felt a little warmth, maybe we can put away our warm winter throws and get ready for …

My family and I would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas. We hope that all your wishes come true today and throughout the new year..

I really don’t like mentioning Christmas before Halloween or Thanksgiving, but. . .
That was an interesting summer, don't you think? Other than snow, I think we had all the seasons in one, spring to summer to fall to summer again. That’s why I love Northwest Indiana, always an adventure.
